China restricting incoming traveler
China is cautiously bracing for a second wave of
corona virus infections in the country. Although the outbreak in Wuhan had been
contained and people are allowed to leave the region again, China had another
problem: the vast number of its citizens who work worldwide. The virus had made
Russia deport all Chinese citizens back to China. With flights to and from
China halted by Russia, the land route in the northeastern China is the only
way for Chinese citizens to reenter the country. China has been restricting
entry through its ports, even for its own citizens. A flight from Jakarta
carrying over 200 Chinese nationals to Guangzhou were cancelled because Beijing
denied entry of the flight, leaving their own citizens stuck in Indonesia.
China is worried about imported cases of COVID 19 by its own citizens and would
rather leave them stranded in another country. What kind of government denies
entry to its own citizens?
